Commercial and Civil Litigation

About Oleg

Oleg joined Himelfarb Proszanski in 2022, having practiced as a commercial litigator in downtown Toronto since 2007. His practice covers a broad range of civil and commercial matters, including contract law, employment, shareholder disputes, and real property litigation; including commercial tenancy, and tax.

Oleg has argued cases at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Small Claims Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Oleg has further acted for clients in matters before the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. He has also represented clients in private arbitrations and before various administrative bodies and tribunals.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, prior to entering the legal profession Oleg pursued graduate studies in history at the University of Chicago, where he took a Master of Arts degree, and at Cambridge University where he completed his doctoral studies, obtaining a Ph.D. in early modern English history. Oleg attended Osgoode Hall Law School, where he was also an editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal, earning a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2005. He was called to the bar of Ontario in 2006 after completing his articles at a Toronto law firm.

On those increasingly infrequent occasions when Oleg is able to get out for some fresh air, he enjoys indulging his passion for long-distance running, entering as many local races as he has time for, including multiple marathons and half-marathons.
