Sharon Ilavsky

Commercial Litigation

About Sharon

Sharon is a commercial litigation lawyer skilled in dispute resolution and trial advocacy, including at the Superior Court of Justice, before various tribunals, and at the Court of Appeal. She has experience handling a wide range of matters requiring a hearing or trial and has particular expertise in resolution of shareholder disputes, real estate litigation, and elder law.

Sharon’s clients appreciate her frank legal opinions and sound analyses of the legal issues relevant to their disputes. Her focus is on achieving resolution early through negotiation or mediation while moving litigation forward in the event that resolution must be achieved through a hearing.

Prior to law school, Sharon worked for several years in the financial services industry and lived in Latin America and The Netherlands. She has a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the bar in 2011.

Sharon has served as a volunteer board member with a number of organizations, including the Community & Legal Aid Services Programme at Osgoode, the Social Planning Council of Cambridge and North Dumfries, the Guelph Youth Music Centre, and the Wellington Law Association.

When not on Zoom calls, Sharon can sometimes be found “letting” her kids beat her at tennis or trying to ignore the data on her latest run.
